Introduction to the Qualifications:
The Level 3 Award in Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment (QCF).
The Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment (QCF).
The Level 3 Award in Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement (QCF).
The Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (QCF).
All courses are all regulated by Ofqual are supported by LSIS.
Qualification Purpose:
These qualifications provide learners with the opportunity to develop skills, knowledge and understanding to enable them to perform the role of an assessor.
1. TQUK Level 3 Award in Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment (QCF) develops the knowledge required by an assessor.
2. TQUK Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment (QCF) is intended for assessors who assess occupational competence in an individual’s work environment.
This qualification is intended for assessors who assess occupational competence in an individual’s work environment.
3. TQUK Level 3 Award in Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement (QCF) is intended for those who assess vocational skills, knowledge and understanding in a workshop, classroom or other training environment rather than assessing competence in a work environment.
Entry Requirements:
There are no specific entry requirements however learners should have a minimum of Level 2 in literacy or numeracy or equivalent.
The qualifications are suitable for learners of 18 years of age and above.
Progression Route:
Successful learners can progress through the suite of qualifications included in this specification and to other further qualifications such as:-
* TQUK Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (QCF).
Availability of Course Due to planning commitments and observation requirements, the Assessors Course is subject to availability. In addition, classroom based courses are also subject to availability in Birmingham & Sheffield.

Guided Learning Hours
The credit value of a qualification can be used to determine how long it will take a learner to achieve as one credit corresponds to 10 hours of learning. These hours are made up of contact time with a teacher/assessor, referred to as guided learning hours (GLH), and non-contact time for study and assessment activities.
Assessment:
These qualifications are assessed through activities which are developed by the centre, internally marked and sampled as part of quality assurance/ internal verification procedures.
All learning outcomes must be met to achieve a Pass. There is no grading.
Delivery and Initial Assessment.
Initial assessment will be conducted prior to start of the course. The initial assessment will be used to inform a teacher/trainer as to the level of the learner’s current knowledge and/or skills.
Results and Certification.
Results and certificates will be issued to centres once they have undertaken the required internal quality assurance procedures and have undergone the external quality assurance activities necessary for each qualification.
